A. B. Cox was a pen name of Anthony Berkeley Cox (5 July 1893 – 9 March 1971), an English crime and fantasy writer born in Watford, Hertfordshire. He also published as Anthony Berkeley and Francis Iles, was a founder of the Detection Club, and created the detective Roger Sheringham. Ash-Tree Press anthologies reprint his stories such as "Bitter Almonds" and "Over the Telephone."
