Alex Hamilton (1930–2016), born Austin John Whiteside, was a British author and editor of quiet supernatural fiction. He published collections including Beam of Malice (1966) and Flies on the Wall (1972); Ash-Tree Press issued The Attic Express and Other Macabre Stories (2007). He wrote on the arts for The Guardian for twenty-five years.
