Hugh Lamb (4 February 1946 – 2 March 2019) was a British editor and anthologist of supernatural and horror fiction, born in Sutton, Surrey. A leading figure in the 1970s revival of British horror anthologies, he rediscovered long-unreprinted Victorian and Edwardian weird tales through extensive library research. His anthologies include A Tide of Terror (1971), Terror by Gaslight (1975), Victorian Nightmares (1977), and Tales from a Gas-Lit Graveyard (1979). Ash-Tree Press reprinted six of his anthologies in hardcover (1996–2002) and published further volumes he introduced, including the Out of the Dark series; he supplied introductions and prefaces for many Ash-Tree titles.
