L. T. C. Rolt (1910–1974), lionel Thomas Caswall Rolt, was an engineering historian and preservationist whose work helped save Britain's canals and railways from destruction. He wrote biographies of Thomas Telford and Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and his Red for Danger remains a classic history of railway accidents and safety.
