First published under the pseudonym Robert Calder in 1977, and then as a best-selling Dell paperback in 1978, The Dogs, at first glance, appears to be nothing more than a typical 1970s animals-on-the-rampage novel But The Dogs is much more than that n scarcely 200 pages, there are secret government programs; a classic anti-hero protagonist with a shady past; sexual escapades; and one of literature's finest portrayals of a canine hero, Orph, a government-bred super dog t also features reproductions of the original paperback and hardcover covers, all in color.
